Outside Catering - Why?

Me, I’m a cheese sandwich sort of a person. I like my food plain and simple. It always makes me laugh when I attend a function such as a wedding or party the naff plastic food on offer.

The thing is, you know the food will be fromĀ  the cheap bin of the food wholesalers as the caterers look to make cash on the deal. Come on, how many times have you had a tasty lasagne at a wedding buffet? It rarely happens. And do you now find the food at parties and events always gives you heartburn? You have to wonder what kind of preservatives are placed in the food to make this the case.

The recent event

Given my introduction, you would think that I turn all events down, but recently I had no choice I had to attend an event in Brighton, where guess what there was going to an outside caterer looking after the food.

Long story short - This was a taste treat. There is no question this was the best food that I had tasted this year.

I was not the only one to think this either; the people who were sat on my table were also highly impressed with the food that was available.

I had on my plate beautiful chicken cooked with leek, rare roasted beef along with a potato cake and some exquisite coleslaw and vegetables.

Seriously, even typing about I can taste the food a week later and that is saying something.

The only drawback is I doubt that I am going to have occasion to be tasting this food like this again in a hurry.

Seriously I am not one for posh grub, and to be fair this was not stupid posh grub, but it tasted bloody amazing and to a level restored my faith in going to events catered by an outside catering company.
