I WAS WALKING VERY, VERY CAREFULLY. Making sure that nobody hears me. I woke up in the middle of the night, my stomach grumbling. After much hesitation, my stomach won out and reluctantly I eased myself out of bed. Going to the kitchen is my only resort. Hopefully, nobody will be awaken. Before I opened the refrigerator door, I noticed the note posted by my Mom, three days ago. I forgot all about the note telling me to call on the rat control company. As usual, I didn’t give it a thought. My Mom is just always worrying. Right now, feeding my stomach is foremost in my mind.

Satisfied I got all the munchies I need, I gingerly made my way back to the room. I got shocked when a rat came running,brushing its hairy skin with my own bare feet. I was so surprised that I lost my footing and landed squarely on my back. I watched helplessly as all my precious foods jangled noisily to the ground. Before I knew it, all the lights in the house were turned on and my folks are clumsily staring down on me. When I said the rat caused all of this, Mom angrily said, “That’s what you get for forgetting about the rat control company.”

The very next day I called the rat control company and made an appointment. I was definitely impressed at the way they patiently listened to my story of woe. We looked over the price estimate for their services and I believed it was a fair and good deal. When all the papers have been signed and everything was settled, they begun the extermination of rats in our home. I was amazed. They were really very good at their job. They work fast and very efficient. They are very meticulous, they take their job very seriously. They were full of energy, never wavering or faltering during the course of their work. We were assured no mouse have survived or will live in our house for a long time. Seeing them work, we don’t need their reassurance. I’m so confident with their work, I need not be afraid to walk in the house at night, even if all the lights are turned off.
