President Obama Names Rouse To Replace Emanuel As Chief Of Staff

Rouse, a top White House aide, has been appointed to replace Rahm Emanuel as White House chief of staff. Known as a level-headed pragmatist with a knack for defusing turmoil, Rouse is a stark distinction to the mercurial Emanuel, whose reputation for political brawling will be useful in the race for mayor of Chicago. The consensus in political circles is that Rouse has taken on what could be an unrewarding headache for the remainder of Obama’s term if Republicans come out ahead in the November elections.

‘Anti-Rahm’ is Pete Rouse’s nickname

Obama announced Friday that White House chief of staff was going to be taken over by Pete Rouse. He said Rouse was a “skillful issue solver” which is why he got the position. Sheryl Gay Stohlberg said that Rouse wasn’t known by anybody within the White House although decisions were affected by him. Stohlberg is of the Brand new York Times. Stohlberg believes that “Rouse is the anti-Rahm,” apparently. Rouse is a behind the scenes kind of person when Emanuel made sure everyone knew he was part of the good things occurring. Rouse was chief of staff for previous Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle and ran Obama’s senatorial office. He moved with Obama to the White House as a senior adviser called extraordinarily close to the president.

Government jobs show this one to be most difficult

It appears like Pete Rouse has a lot to do with his new job. It has got to be hard taking over Emanuel’s job. The White House appears to be going via a lot of stuff right now which leads Dana Milbank to say that Rouse had “the worst week in Washington.” She is from the Washington Post and said this before he even got assigned to the position officially. Rouse is “stepping into the hardest job in government at one of the toughest times imaginable.” That is what Milbank believes. November elections aren’t looking really good for Democrats. Republicans will probably take over many seats. Getting Obama’s agenda passed over the next two years could be harder than ever.

Palin getting mad already

Pete Rouse is already drawing the wrath of Sarah Palin. As soon as the rumor of Rouse replacing Emanuel came up, Palin starting tweeting all sorts of innuendo, accounts CNN. CNN accounts that Palin said Rouse maintained his voter registration in Alaska so he could collect the state’s yearly dividend. Take a look at the Alaska Permanent Fund dividend record. Rouse isn’t on there anywhere. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs called Palin’s accusations “fairly silly.”. I found this here:
